You Can Get There From Here
After being a city girl for my entire life, in 2004, I was moved by the mountains. My inspiration?

Get Happy: Get Blue
Believe it or not, even fitness professionals have their addictions. Mine happen to M&Ms. It started back when I used to run marathons. We called them Vitamin M. Well, since I no longer run marathons, I can’t afford the extra calories. Fortunately, I’ve found a viable substitute. It’s called blueberries. You can read about it on my Prevention Magazine Blog.

On Curing My Gym Addiction
Although I live in the Colorado Rockies, recently, I've noticed that I've been turning into the type of person I used to ridicule. Basically, you can take the girl out of New York City, but you can't take New York City out of the girl.
Confession: I'm a gym addict. But lately, the weather has been so beautiful, that I decided to bag the elliptical in favor of the mountains. You can read about it on my new Blog on Prevention.

Thailand Trip
Hey, it's been awhile. Writing assignments and other responsibilities have kept me from writing in this blog, but I am back. My husband and I just returned from a trip to Thailand. You can read about it, and see some awesome photos on this site:

Thailand was amazing, especially Khao Lak. This where the tsunami did the most damage. The resort is so peaceful and beautiful, it's hard to believe that is was the location of one of the worst tragedies of the century!

Mastering Parallel Ski Turns
Mastering Parallel Ski Turns
I am not a ski instructor and I don't even play one on TV. However, as the quest for the elusive parallel turn is a common one, I thought that I would write an article on this topic.Mastering Parallel Ski Turns

An Irreverent Guide To Ski Vacations
As you've probably figured out, I love to write about ski destinations. While most editors want a "just the facts" article about a ski vacation, the editor of Zonder.com likes stuff that is over the top. Gee, I wish I always got assignments like these:

A Breckenridge Mystery
As some of you might know, I am working on a project that would benefit both the Backstage Theatre and the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance. The concept involves a dramatic script that would be performed progressively as vistors visit each of the Breckenridge Historic sites.
Once I came up with the project idea, I had a major mental block about what to put in the script. Then, I came across a writing contest that asked for a 1500 word mystery story that would be written on a 6th grade reading level. The suspects needed to be listed at the start of the story, and I only had a very short time to complete it.
In a workshop at the Backstage Theatre, Murphy Funkhouser once said that you can come up with your best work under pressure. While I would not exactly call this my best work, it did get me off my butt to get the basic story. Due to word count restrictions, I was not able to do the characterizations much justice. However, it's a start. Needless to say, when it becomes a script, there will be some obvious changes, but for now, take a look:

Spring Break Ski Destinations
Looking for a great spring break destination? Consider a ski resort! I wrote the following articles as a "public service." Why rely on a commercial website, when you can get the inside scoop from a local or a frequent visitor?
Keystone Spring Break
Breckenridge Spring Break
Park City Spring Break
Whistler Spring Break
Have fun!
